Thirteen individuals were arrested on Sunday across five districts of Koshi Province on charges of involvement in drug trafficking. Authorities confiscated brown sugar, banned substances, cannabis, and four two-wheeler vehicles from the suspects. The detainees include 31-year-old Bibek Rajbanshi, 28-year-old Regan Rajbanshi, and 31-year-old Sanjay Kumar Rajbanshi from Gauradaha Municipality-2, Jhapa; along with 35-year-old Rajkumar Kamati and his wife Manika Kamati from Birtamod-9. Additionally, 29-year-old Darshan Rai from Dhankuta Municipality-7, 28-year-old Namunesh Bhujel from Dhankuta-10, 23-year-old Ayush Rai from Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality-2, and 30-year-old Narbahadur Pulami Magar from Udaypurgadhi Rural Municipality-6 were also apprehended.
Further arrests include 27-year-old Samir Rai from Kanepokhari-7, Morang; 25-year-old Sohrab Alam from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-17; 24-year-old Myong Limbu from Dharan-11, Sunsari; and 20-year-old Emil Rai from Dharan-15. Authorities recovered brown sugar, prohibited drugs, cannabis, and four two-wheeler vehicles from those arrested on Sunday. Koshi Province Police have confirmed that all detainees are currently held for ongoing drug-related investigations and prosecution.
