CPN-UML Vice Chairman Vishnu Poudel Detained in Money Laundering Probe; Oli Calls It ‘Ultimate Revenge’
Deputy Prime Minister and CPN-UML Vice Chairman Vishnu Poudel has been taken into custody. On Monday, Poudel was detained in Surkhet, according to Jayaraj Sapkota, Chief of Police for Karnali Province. He stated that the detention was carried out based on a letter from the Money Laundering Investigation Department.
CPN-UML, Poudel’s party, has expressed disagreement with the arrest. The Surkhet District Police Office also confirmed that Poudel is in custody. This action by the Money Laundering Investigation Department has sparked political controversy.
