June 23, Kathmandu: An explosion at a factory in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar, has resulted in the deaths of 13 people, including 12 Indian nationals. The incident at the factory has left everyone in shock. The Indian Embassy in Doha confirmed via a social media post, stating, “Qatari authorities have confirmed the tragic death of 12 Indian citizens in the incident that occurred Sunday night in Ras Laffan.”
The embassy also reported, citing Qatari officials, that all injured individuals are in stable condition and continue to receive medical treatment. More than 800,000 Indian workers are employed in Qatar. The Indian Embassy is maintaining continuous communication with Qatari authorities to assist the affected individuals and their families. Arrangements are also being made to repatriate the bodies of the deceased to India as soon as possible. Earlier on Monday, during a press briefing, Qatar’s Minister of Energy, Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, confirmed that a total of 13 people, including nationals from India and Pakistan, lost their lives in the explosion.
