Iranian President Raisi Emphasizes Commitment and Implementation as Key to Effective Negotiations
June 23, Kathmandu – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that the success of any negotiation depends on the proper implementation of commitments. Preparing for his upcoming visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, President Raisi expressed through X (formerly Twitter) that, “The effectiveness of negotiations relies on full commitment to the agreed subjects and their actual implementation. Progress along this path is measured by practical adherence to accepted responsibilities.” He added, “Statements beyond the agreed topics do not help advance negotiations.”
This remark appears to be specifically directed at former US President Donald Trump and other American officials.
Earlier on Monday, the first phase of talks between the US and Iran took place in Switzerland under Pakistan’s mediation. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the discussions as successful.
Furthermore, President Raisi is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday, where he is expected to meet with his Pakistani counterparts, Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
