Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes First Footballer to Score in Six Consecutive FIFA World Cups

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player to score in six consecutive FIFA World Cups. On June 23, in Kathmandu, the Portuguese football star achieved this significant milestone after scoring against Uzbekistan in the Group K match of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Ronaldo has participated and scored in every World Cup from 2006 through 2026, making him the only player to have scored in six consecutive tournaments. Although he did not score in Portugal’s opening match against DR Congo, he found the net early in the sixth minute against Uzbekistan, giving his team the lead. In his debut World Cup in 2006, Ronaldo scored once, followed by one goal each in the 2010 and 2014 tournaments.

Notably, in the 2018 World Cup, he scored four goals, including a hat-trick against Spain. He also scored once in the 2022 tournament and has now added another goal in the ongoing World Cup held across North America. Additionally, Ronaldo became the second-oldest player to score in a World Cup at the age of 41 years and 138 days, with only Roger Milla of Cameroon having scored at an older age of 42 years and 39 days during the 1994 World Cup against Russia.
