England and Ghana Play to Goalless Draw, Points Evenly Shared

Following the draw, both England and Ghana have secured 4 points each, with England leading based on goal difference. Kathmandu, June 24. In the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group L match, England and Ghana played to a goalless draw. The game, held on Wednesday morning at Boston Stadium in the United States, saw England fail to capitalize on scoring opportunities and settle for a draw with Ghana.

This marks the third occasion in the last five World Cups where England has drawn their second group match. Additionally, this World Cup has seen three matches end without goals, including those between Spain and Cape Verde, as well as Belgium and Iran.

Despite featuring forwards such as captain Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Aberechi Eze, and Marcus Rashford, England’s finishing was not sharp enough. Kane, who scored twice against Croatia in the opening game, was unable to find the net today. England controlled 79 percent of possession and maintained dominance over the opposition, registering a total of 19 shots. With this draw, both England and Ghana have earned 4 points each. England leads the group on goal difference. Both teams remain strong contenders to advance to the knockout stage.

This result also provided a glimmer of hope for Croatia and Panama, who were both defeated in their opening matches. Croatia and Panama are set to face off at 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday. England will meet Panama in the group’s final match, while Ghana will take on Croatia.
