Seven Municipalities of Dolpa Present Annual Budgets: How Much Have They Allocated?
10 Ashad, Dolpa – Seven local levels in the mountainous district of Dolpa have announced their annual budgets for the fiscal year 2083/84.
Out of eight local levels in the district, seven municipalities have publicized their budgets, while Mudkechula Rural Municipality has yet to release its budget.
Among the published budgets, Tripurasundari Municipality has announced the largest budget.
The municipality declared a budget totaling NPR 5,887,575,604.60 for the upcoming fiscal year.
According to Dr. Hemant Shahi, the Information Officer of the municipality, the policy and program have already been approved through the 15th municipal assembly and the budget will be sanctioned in the assembly’s closed session.
He added that the budget was formulated by prioritizing the expectations and needs of the local population.
Similarly, Thulibheri Municipality has revealed a budget of NPR 5,013,030,000.
According to Mayor Shwawarn Kumar Budha, the policy and program were presented on Ashad 8 and the budget was unanimously approved by the municipal assembly on Ashad 9.
Kaike Rural Municipality has set a budget of NPR 3,337,491,183.80 for the next fiscal year.
Rural Municipality Chairperson Angad Kumar Rana stated that the budget was prepared with attention to the public’s expectations and requirements.
Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality has announced a budget of NPR 3,308,240,000, while Jagadulla Rural Municipality has declared NPR 3,021,360,036.60.
Chairperson Narasing Rokaya expressed confidence that the budget, approved in the 20th village assembly, will make a significant contribution to overall development, noting a focus on people-centered and development-oriented programs.
Dolpo Buddha Rural Municipality unveiled a budget of NPR 2,813,906,666.60.
Chharka Tangsong Rural Municipality has proposed a budget of NPR 2,790,000,000 for the coming fiscal year.
The rural municipality emphasized that their budget was developed with priorities on education, health, agriculture, animal husbandry, tourism, medicinal herb conservation, infrastructure development, drinking water, irrigation, energy, communication, social security, youth and sports development, entrepreneurship promotion, environmental protection, and disaster management.
They mentioned that achieving the goal of “Prosperous Chharka Tangsong, Happy Citizens” requires cooperation from all parties in budget implementation.
Meanwhile, other local levels in the district have already presented their budgets, but Mudkechula Rural Municipality has not yet done so.
According to the rural municipality’s vice-chairperson Duda Rokaya, the delay in budget release was due to the rural municipality chairperson Datt Bahadur Shahi being out of the district for his mother’s medical treatment. She assured that the budget will be announced soon.
Most local levels in Dolpa have prioritized development, service delivery, agriculture, education, health, and infrastructure development in their budgets. Once Mudkechula Rural Municipality releases its budget, the details for all local levels in the district will be complete.
