Chhathar Rural Municipality Announces Budget of NPR 472.799 Million for Fiscal Year 2083/084
11 Ashad, Tehrathum – Chhathar Rural Municipality in Tehrathum has announced a budget of NPR 472,799,634 for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084. The budget, presented through the municipality assembly during its 17th session, prioritizes road infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, and employment.
The budget presentation took place on Wednesday at the historic and tourist site of 52 Dhoke/Barah Temple/Yomui Changkhasing Gadhi located in Chhathar Rural Municipality-3 Panchakanya. Municipality Chairperson Santabir Limbu unveiled the budget and policy program during the assembly.
According to the municipality, the total budget comprises NPR 423,930,000 from the federal government, NPR 39,064,300 from the provincial government, and NPR 10,000,000 managed through local sources. Chairperson Limbu expressed confidence that this budget, designed around local needs, public expectations, and sustainable development goals, will lay the foundation for building a prosperous and self-reliant Chhathar.
Infrastructure development has been given high priority in the budget. Key projects include the upgrade and blacktopping of the road connecting Sukrabare – Fakchamara – Panchakanya – Hakpara – Tamor corridor. Additionally, the budget highlights expansion of inter-municipality and ward-linking roads, construction of year-round accessible roads, bridge projects, and other public infrastructure development initiatives.
The budget also places special emphasis on the commercialization of agriculture and livestock sectors, enhancement of production, farmers’ income growth, and marketing of local products. It sets objectives to stimulate the local economy through tourism promotion, strengthening cooperatives, and expanding employment opportunities.
In health, the budget includes programs for upgrading healthcare institutions, expanding community-based health services, and ensuring easy access to quality health care. In education, the focus is on promoting quality education, increasing access to technical and higher education, and fostering sports development to produce skilled human resources.
