Player Auction Scheduled for Monday Ahead of Indoor Super League Second Edition
The player auction for the second edition of the Indoor Super League is set to take place on Monday, June 28, in Kathmandu. Organizers have announced that the tournament, which will feature ten teams, is scheduled to commence from September 2. The auction for the second Indoor Super League (ISL) will be held on Monday, June 28, in Kathmandu. Organized by Kathmandu Sports Events Pvt. Ltd., this league has participation from ten teams. While the first edition included eight franchise teams, two new teams have been added this year. Additionally, team names have been updated to reflect the identity of cities and provinces.
Jyoti Bhandari, Managing Director of the Indoor Super League, noted that the new team identities have generated additional excitement among cricket enthusiasts and spectators. She expressed confidence that the second edition will surpass the first in scale, organization, and competitiveness. The participating teams in this edition are Kathmandu Kailash Kings, Sudurpashchim Tigers, The Lumbini Yorkers, Mixmandu, Lalitpur Allstars, Biratnagar Battalion, Janakpur Kings, Butwal Empire, Pokhara Warriors, and Raw Hetauda Royals. The tournament is set to start on September 2 (Bhadra 17). The first edition’s trophy was claimed by Anmol Pioneers. Through a franchise system, the Indoor Super League aims to develop Nepalese indoor cricket, identify emerging talent, and establish the sport on a commercial basis. Organizers have emphasized these goals as the foundation for the second edition.
