June 29, Kathmandu – Former national cricketer Sharad Bhesawakar has been appointed as the Cricket Director of Kathmandu Gorkhas, a franchise team in the Nepal Premier League (NPL). He will serve as Cricket Director and mentor for the upcoming season.
Sharad previously played for Chitwan Rhinos in the inaugural edition of the NPL. The team believes his arrival will further bolster its technical and cricket management capabilities. “We continuously enhance our cricket management with each season. With an experienced individual like Sharad, we feel confident that we can perform well both on and off the field. We are very excited to work with him,” said representatives of Gorkhas.
Sharad, who entered the national team through age-group cricket in 2002, captained Nepal in last year’s Hong Kong Super Sixes before announcing his retirement from cricket. He is well-known as a successful domestic captain and has also led the Armed Police Force (APF) cricket team.
Expressing confidence in utilizing his experience to uplift Kathmandu Gorkhas, Sharad stated, “I am fully confident in applying my franchise league experience to advance Kathmandu Gorkhas.
