Young Man Rescued Alive from Rubble Eight Days After Venezuela Earthquake

Kathmandu, 18 Ashar – A young man has been rescued alive from the rubble eight days after the devastating earthquake in Venezuela. Rescuers succeeded in extricating the survivor, identified as Hernan Gil, from debris weighing approximately 140 tons. According to international reports, rescue efforts were carried out for nearly 100 continuous hours after it was confirmed he was still alive inside.
He was discovered alive under the rubble last Saturday, which prompted hundreds of rescuers to launch a prolonged and intense rescue operation. The rescue involved teams from Venezuela, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico, Portugal, and the United States, all playing crucial roles in the effort. Venezuela experienced two major earthquakes measuring 7.6 and 7.2 on the Richter scale on June 24, which have claimed more than 2,300 lives to date. Thousands more remain missing as the search and rescue operations continue.
