Delhi High Court Directs GA Committee to Decide Within 15 Days on Deletion of Dhruv Rathi’s Video
19 Ashar, Kathmandu – On Friday, the Delhi High Court instructed the Central Government’s Grievance Appellate Committee (GAC) to take a decision within 15 days regarding the removal of a video posted by YouTuber Dhruv Rathi. The video reportedly contains claims that Lord Ram, Sita, and Lord Krishna consumed meat and alcohol. The GAC is a body established by the Central Government that hears appeals against decisions on complaints made to social media platforms and other online intermediaries regarding online content or accounts.
According to the legal news and analysis website Bar & Bench, Justice Swarnkanta Sharma ordered the GAC to submit its decision to the court within 15 days. She warned, “If this order is disobeyed, the court will take it very seriously.” This directive came during the hearing of a writ petition filed by lawyer Amita Sachdeva. Sachdeva had filed the petition challenging the video titled ‘Can Hindus Eat Beef: Kerala Story 2 Exposed,’ uploaded on YouTube by Dhruv Rathi on March 21, 2026. The petition alleges that the video wrongly claims that revered figures such as Lord Ram, Mata Sita, and Lord Krishna consumed meat and alcohol.
According to the petition, this act insults Hindu faith and hurts the religious sentiments of millions of devotees.
