Novak Djokovic Breaks Roger Federer’s Record to Reach Wimbledon Quarterfinals
Kathmandu, 21 Ashar – Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has surpassed Roger Federer’s record for the most wins in the Wimbledon men’s singles and secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the tournament. The seven-time Wimbledon champion defeated Russia’s Roman Safiullin 3-1 in sets on Sunday evening to advance to the last eight. Djokovic won the match 7-6(8-6), 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
With this victory, Djokovic registered his 106th men’s singles win at Wimbledon, breaking Federer’s previous record of 105 wins. Additionally, Djokovic has now reached the quarterfinals for nine consecutive editions of the tournament.
Throughout the match, Djokovic displayed his outstanding experience and class, finishing with an impressive drop volley. Despite Safiullin’s strong challenge, he ultimately had to concede defeat against one of the greatest tennis players of all time, Djokovic.
