June 21, Kathmandu – The local administration has imposed a ban on vehicle movement on Kanti Highway during nighttime hours. Starting tonight and until further notice, public and private passenger vehicles traveling between Makwanpur and Sindhuli will be prohibited from operating on Kanti Highway from 7 PM to 5 AM, the District Administration Office of Lalitpur announced.
As the monsoon becomes active, the administration has imposed this restriction in anticipation of potential disasters at any time. Most parts of Kanti Highway are sensitive due to risky geographical and geological conditions. The administration highlighted the likelihood of landslides, falling rocks, and road blockages during the rainy season.
