Trump Warns of Major Attack on Iran Tonight

June 24, Kathmandu – US President Donald Trump has issued a warning that a major attack on Iran might occur tonight. Speaking to journalists alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the NATO summit held in Turkey on Wednesday, Trump clarified this possibility. “We struck them very hard Tuesday night, very hard,” Trump said in response to a question about Iran. “Perhaps tonight, we will once again attack them with force.” He indicated that Iran’s officials had already received a small warning. “We will hit them hard again tonight,” he reiterated.

Trump claimed that the US has not yet launched a high-level attack on Iran but suggested that future American strikes could target critical infrastructure such as bridges and desalination plants. Additionally, he signaled that the US may seize Kharg Island, the main oil export terminal controlled by Iran. According to Trump, if the US occupies Kharg Island, Tehran will be unable to respond effectively. Earlier on Wednesday, during another conversation with the press, Trump declared that the peace agreement with Iran is over. He also criticized negotiators, saying they were wasting time by engaging in talks with Iran.

Furthermore, Trump labeled the Iranian government as “crazy.” This marks a significant shift from his previous remarks, which had been more optimistic about the prospects of successful negotiations with Iran just weeks ago. His recent statements suggest that the conflict could be reaching a decisive turning point, thereby increasing the likelihood of new attacks. During the press conference with Zelenskyy, Trump explicitly expressed his dissatisfaction with Iran. “They lie,” he stated. At the NATO summit press briefing, Trump described Iranian officials as “bad people.” “As far as I’m concerned, it’s over. I don’t want to talk to them anymore. They are bad people,” he said. “From my perspective, this is finished. Talking to them is a waste of time. They lie.” However, he did note that negotiations could continue if both sides’ negotiators wished to do so. “But they are wasting their time,” he added. “They are mentally sick. Their leaders are also mentally unstable. In my view, dealing with them is simply time wasted.” Trump also maintained that Iran had accepted not to pursue nuclear weapons in talks, but he claimed publicly there was little discussion of this topic in the media.
