Ganesh Nepali, 25, who attempted self-immolation in Tripureshwor, is currently in critical condition while receiving treatment at Bir Hospital. According to Dr. Piyush Dahal, coordinator of the Plastic Surgery Department, Nepali has sustained burns over 60 percent of his body and is on a ventilator. The medical team has stated that due to the unstable condition, transferring him to India is not currently possible. Kathmandu, 26th Ashar.
Ganesh Nepali from Soru Rural Municipality-1 in Mugu attempted self-immolation, and doctors involved in his treatment have described his health as very serious. Dr. Piyush Dahal, coordinator of the Plastic Surgery Department at Bir Hospital, stated, “Approximately 60 percent of Nepali’s body has been burned and his condition remains unstable. The fire caused severe injuries to critical body parts including his face, head, and neck. Upon arrival at the hospital, he exhibited respiratory problems, and emergency intubation was performed in the emergency ward, followed by ventilator support to begin treatment.”
Nepali is currently receiving care in the burn ICU of Bir Hospital with ventilator assistance. The doctors have labeled his condition as ‘critical’ and warned of potential complications. Dr. Dahal added, “Nearly all clinical indicators show no improvement in the patient’s condition. We are utilizing all available treatments, but the primary focus now is to stabilize the patient.”
