June 27, Kathmandu – Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei declared an unwavering commitment to avenge the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during his funeral rites. In a written statement issued Saturday, he emphasized, “Blood vengeance will be exacted under any circumstances.” On February 28, a joint military strike by the United States and Israel targeted the then Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family members, resulting in significant casualties. Mojtaba Khamenei, who survived the attack, was subsequently declared Supreme Leader following his father’s demise. The funeral for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was held earlier this week.
In the message released today, Mojtaba expressed gratitude to all those who attended the funeral and vowed, “We pledge to avenge the sacred blood of you all and the blood of all the martyrs of these two wars from these criminals and ruthless murderers. This revenge is the demand of our people and will be fulfilled regardless of the circumstances.” In his statement, Mojtaba Khamenei asserted that they possess a complete list of the perpetrators. “They must understand that they will face a peaceful death in their graves. This mission is not only the responsibility of me or any official,” he added. “Whether we live or die, this task will be accomplished. Soon, freedom lovers around the world will share this responsibility.” Notably, Mojtaba Khamenei was absent from his father’s funeral and has yet to make a public appearance.
