He plans to replace Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko with a new appointee and has proposed changes to the heads of some law enforcement agencies. However, details about who will succeed Svyrydenko and the specific reasons for the reshuffle have not yet been disclosed.
“I thank Svyrydenko for her clear, steady, and effective service as Prime Minister, and have offered her the opportunity to lead a new and significant sector as a key partner within Ukraine’s team,” Zelensky stated. “I hope that through parliament we will implement the necessary changes within the government. There will also be changes in the leadership of law enforcement agencies.”
Zelensky appointed Svyrydenko as Prime Minister last year. An official statement highlighted major initiatives Ukraine is pursuing, including advancing its process to join the European Union and strengthening border security.
