June 29, Kathmandu – Iran has issued a warning that it will target Gulf countries that assist military operations against it. The Iranian government threatened direct attacks on Gulf states allowing the United States to use their land and military bases. This warning was made public by Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Monday, following recent American strikes.
According to an official statement published by Iranian state media, the Foreign Ministry accused the US of violating the majority of the terms of a ceasefire agreement just 25 days after signing it. The ministry stated that US attacks targeted Iran’s transportation network, fishing boats, cargo ships, meteorological agency buildings, and other government infrastructure. Iran characterized these actions as grave war crimes.
The Foreign Ministry highlighted that under international law, neighboring countries are obligated to prevent aggressor states from using their territory or military bases. Iran also warned that any location directly or indirectly involved in or supporting attacks against it will be targeted by its forces in retaliatory operations.
