30 Ashar, Kathmandu – Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav departed for Qatar on Tuesday afternoon. He is undertaking a three-day official visit to express condolences on behalf of the Nepal government following the demise of Qatar’s former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Vice President Yadav was seen off at the VIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport by Minister for Information and Communications Dr. Bikram Timilsina. Senior officials including Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai were also present at the farewell.
During the visit, Vice President Yadav is scheduled to hand over a condolence message sent by President Ram Chandra Paudel to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on 31 Ashar, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Other high-ranking officials from the Nepal government are accompanying the Vice President. He is expected to return home on 32 Ashar. –RASAS
