June 14 (31 Asar), Butwal – The Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) Rupandehi submitted a 24-point memorandum to the administration of Lumbini Provincial Hospital, demanding immediate resolution of issues related to good governance and service delivery.
Addressing the hospital’s Medical Superintendent, District Secretary Birendra C. highlighted that health care is a fundamental right guaranteed by the constitution, and every citizen visiting a government hospital should be ensured easy, rapid, quality, and dignified treatment.
Lumbini Provincial Hospital serves thousands of patients from the province and neighboring districts. There have been recurring complaints from service users, and onsite inspections have revealed weaknesses in service delivery, prompting the submission of the 24-point demand for improvements, according to Secretary Birendra C.
The memorandum emphasizes the need to make the hospital’s outpatient department (OPD) fully technology-friendly. It recommends organizing the ticket distribution system by introducing QR code-based fee payments, a digital token system, online pre-registration, and SMS-based queue information services.
