The United States conducted a new airstrike late Wednesday night targeting Iran’s military command centers, missile, and drone facilities. President Donald Trump issued a warning to Iran, signaling further action if the country refuses to engage in talks. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that if no benefits arise from negotiations, there is no reason to adhere to any agreement.
The US military command, CENTCOM, provided details about the new airstrikes. According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted military command centers, air defense sites, missile and drone installations, as well as coastal surveillance centers within Iran. The military confirmed that these operations have concluded. The primary objective cited by the US was to weaken Iran’s military capabilities.
The US has accused Iran of threatening commercial vessels and their crews operating through the Strait of Hormuz. Previously, Iran claimed to have launched attacks on US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. Following Iran’s claim, the US responded with retaliatory measures.
On Tuesday night, President Trump issued a stern warning to Iran, stating, “If Iran does not come to the negotiating table next week, I will strike their bridges and power plants.” When journalists inquired about a specific timeline for this threat on Wednesday night, Trump responded, “I do not like setting deadlines, but they know… they have to behave properly.”
