Padma Aryal Emphasizes Making Parliament a Strong Platform to Represent the Public Voice

Padma Aryal, Deputy Leader of the CPN-UML, stressed the need to establish Parliament as a powerful forum that raises the voice of the people and holds the government accountable. She emphasized that members of parliament’s proposals must be intellectual, logical, and fact-based, expressing the party leadership’s commitment to fully support necessary study and consultation. Aryal stated, “It is currently a top priority to effectively alert the government through Parliament when it takes wrong actions and guide it back on the right path.”
Kathmandu, 19 July – Padma Aryal, Deputy Leader of the CPN-UML parliamentary party and party secretary, stated that Parliament must be established as a strong platform that effectively represents the people’s voice and holds the government accountable. Speaking at an interaction program for lawmakers in Kathmandu on Sunday, she noted that given the special circumstances of the current Parliament, a collective effort is essential to make it more special and impactful.
Aryal said, “We want to make the current special circumstance Parliament unique. Our efforts alone are not sufficient; the cooperation of colleagues is extremely important.” She emphasized the necessity of conveying public problems and voices to the government through Parliament, ensuring people feel their concerns are being represented, and clearly establishing the party’s stance on social, national, and international issues.
