Student Lathi Charge Issue Raised in Indian Parliament, Khadge Criticizes Government

4 Shrawan, Kathmandu – On Monday, Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of the lathi charge on CPPJ protesters in the Indian Parliament.

Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Kharge stated, ‘Thousands of children gathered at Jantar-Mantar over the paper leak incident were subjected to lathi charge. The Modi government is trying to silence the voices of the youth.’

The Chhatra Congress (CPPJ) thanked Kharge via Twitter, saying, ‘Thank you to Mallikarjun Kharge for raising the voices of youth in Parliament!’

Speaking to the media outside Parliament, Kharge said, ‘It is wrong to have beaten and caused suffering to students and youth who have come to Delhi to raise their concerns. We have drawn the government’s attention to this issue multiple times, but the government remains indifferent. On one hand, there is unemployment, and on the other, this government has failed to conduct exams. Therefore, we say this government is not fit to remain in power.’
