List of 10 Outstanding Works Announced for Madan Puraskar 2082

The Madan Puraskar Guthi has released the list of 10 outstanding works shortlisted for the year 2082. Out of 298 submitted books, works by authors including Keshavraj Gyawali, Keshav Dahal, and Lalit Bist have been selected. According to the Guthi, since the year 2075 BS, the prize amount for the Madan Puraskar has been fixed at four hundred thousand rupees. Kathmandu, 4 Shrawan.

According to the press release issued on Monday, following an evaluation of the 298 books received this year for the Madan Puraskar, 10 works have been chosen for the shortlist. One of these will be awarded the Madan Puraskar–2082. The selected works include “Ajñāt” by Keshavraj Gyawali, “Ithā” by Keshav Dahal, “Utkarsh” by Lalit Bist, “Nepalmandal Samma Jodeko Simrōnagadhko Itihās” by Roshan Kumar Jha, “Newar Samudāykā Paramparāgat Mukundonāch” by Veena Joshi (Rajbhandari), “Paridhi” by Uma Subedi, “Mahayug” by Seema Aabhas, “Salah” by Shravan Mukarung, “Swasparsh” by Dr. Navaraj KC, and “Hiund” by Nadish.

According to a statement released by the chairman of Madan Puraskar Guthi, Kund Dixit, since 2072 BS it has been customary for the Guthi to shortlist up to 10 works from the books it receives and publish the shortlist. As per Guthi regulations, one of the selection criteria is the predominance of unpublished material in the book. Established in 2012 BS, the Madan Puraskar Guthi awarded the Madan Puraskar for the first time in 2013 BS to three works in prose, social science, and science categories. Since then, the award has been consistently given to the best works published in the Nepali language.
