August 5, Kathmandu – The match schedule for the CABA Men’s Volleyball Championship, set to be held in Pakistan, has been announced.
According to the schedule released by the Central Asian Volleyball Association, Nepal will face Kazakhstan in its opening match on July 22. On the same day, Uzbekistan will play Bangladesh, while Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka.
The championship features six teams competing in a single round-robin format. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals, while the fifth and sixth placed teams will contest for fifth place.
The semifinals are scheduled for July 28, with the final match taking place on July 29. In the first semifinal, the first and fourth placed teams will compete, while the second semifinal will feature the second and third placed teams.
The 12-member Nepalese men’s volleyball team, led by captain Harihajur Thapa, has already traveled to Pakistan to participate in this prestigious championship. This will be Nepal’s first participation in an FIVB world-ranked event.
This opportunity offers Nepal a chance to once again have its name featured on the global volleyball map.
Initially, Afghanistan was expected to participate, but their absence allowed Uzbekistan to take the spot at the last moment.
