Nepal to Compete Against Afghanistan and Japan in Group Stage of 2026 Asian Games Cricket Tournament

Following editorial review, it has been confirmed that Nepal will be placed in Group A for the cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games, which will be held in Japan. Group A consists of Nepal, Afghanistan, and Japan. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. Kathmandu, 7th Shrawan.
In the upcoming Asian Games 2026 cricket event in Japan, Nepal will compete in the group stage against Afghanistan and Japan. The draw conducted on Thursday finalized Nepal’s opponents. Group A features Nepal alongside Afghanistan and Japan, while Group B includes Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Oman. India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan will directly enter the quarterfinals. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage.
Previously, Nepal reached the quarterfinals at the 2022 Asian Games held in China, where their run was ended by India. This time, Nepal qualified for the main event unbeaten during the Asian Games qualifiers held in Singapore.
