Nepal Volleyball League Player Auction Scheduled for Sunday with 129 Participants

The player auction for the inaugural season of the Nepal Volleyball League is set to take place on Sunday. A total of 129 players have registered for the auction, according to the Nepal Volleyball League. The competition is scheduled to be held from September 28 to October 6 at the covered hall of the National Sports Council (Rakam) in Tripureshwor.
The auction for the first season of the NVL, starting on September 28, will be conducted this Sunday. Pujan Thapa, Head of Operations of the Nepal Volleyball League, confirmed that 129 players have registered for the auction. Of these, 56 players are in Category ‘A’ and 73 players are in Category ‘B’.
Six franchise teams will participate in the NVL, with each team required to contract 7 players through the auction. Each team must select 4 players from Category ‘A’ and 3 players from Category ‘B’. The minimum bid for players in Category ‘A’ is set at NPR 100,000 with a maximum of NPR 120,000, while for Category ‘B’ players, the minimum is NPR 50,000 and maximum is NPR 70,000.
Each NVL team will consist of 12 players including marquee players. Seven players will be selected through the auction, three foreign players will be signed, and one player will be chosen from the talent hunt. The six franchise teams have already announced their marquee players: Harihjurr Thapa of Sagarmatha Smashers, Rabin Nagarkoti of Madhesh Warriors, Sunil Bohara of Kathmandu Reds, Himal Sunari of Annapurna Spiker Kings, Pehal Ghataraj of Karnali Shivraj, and Dhiraj Basnet of Khaptad Falcons.
Organized by Kedia Group, this men’s volleyball franchise league will be held for the first time from September 28 to October 6 at the multipurpose covered hall of the National Sports Council (Rakam) in Tripureshwor.
