Students and Parents Lock Down Parivartan Rural Municipality Office in Protest

In Rolpa’s Parivartan Rural Municipality, students and parents have locked the municipal office in protest against a teacher transfer. According to Birendra Gharti Magar, chairperson of the School Management Committee, the protesters are opposing the transfer of Principal Krishnaram Dangi to another location. They raised slogans and displayed placards at the municipality office demanding the reinstatement of the teacher and assurance of uninterrupted education for the students. July 24, Rolpa.
Students and parents affiliated with Triveni Basic School, located at Parivartan Rural Municipality-5, Putalchaur, locked the municipality office last Friday, informed Birendra Gharti Magar. They organized the lockdown as a demonstration against the transfer of the teacher, chanting slogans and holding placards with messages such as “Fulfill the demands of students and parents, ensure students’ education, reinstate the teacher.”
The municipality had transferred Krishnaram Dangi, who was also serving as the principal at Triveni Basic School, back to Nepal National Secondary School. Dangi had been on deputation at Triveni Basic School since 2019 (2076 BS). Since April 22, 2026 (9 Baisakh 2083 BS), the Parivartan Rural Municipality received permission to operate up to Grade 10 at Triveni Basic School. Parivartan Rural Municipality Chairperson Sukbahadur Budhamagar is currently in Kathmandu for medical treatment, and both Chief Administrative Officer Nimba Bahadur KC and Head of Administration Lalitkumar Budha are on leave.
