Located in Shivpuri Rural Municipality-4 of Nuwakot, the Lakhinshwari Waterfall has emerged as a notable tourist destination for those seeking relief from the summer heat. Situated approximately 34 kilometers from New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, the waterfall is easily accessible via the Tokha–Zhor and Gajure Bhanjyang routes. This picturesque spot can be reached in about one and a half hours from New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, and is abundant with natural beauty. The waterfall lies nestled amidst dense forest near Sikre village in Shivpuri Rural Municipality-4 of Nuwakot. Currently, hundreds of tourists from the valley arrive daily to escape the summer heat. Visitors can spend the day relaxing and enjoying the surroundings and easily return by evening, which has made it especially popular among the youth. Access is convenient via the Tokha–Zhor route through Gajure Bhanjyang.
The waterfall is located roughly 34 kilometers from Kathmandu. The journey includes about 6 kilometers of unpaved road, with the remainder being asphalted roads. Visitors can reach the site by motorcycle or jeep. Being close to the main road makes it an easy destination even for those who may find long walks difficult. Surrounded by dense forest areas connected to Shivpuri National Park, the environment is incredibly scenic. The region also features several other small and large waterfalls. The river flowing from Shivpuri supplies the waterfall with clean, cold, and crystalline water. It also serves as an excellent site for photography and videography enthusiasts.
