
Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff is poised to participate in the prestigious 135th Durand Cup football tournament. Tiger has been included in the Mumbai FC squad and has been undergoing regular training, with a strong possibility of him taking the field in the final group stage match. Mumbai FC is making its debut in the Durand Cup and will compete in Group ‘E’ alongside teams such as Shillong Lajong. Kathmandu, 12th Shrawan.
According to Indian media outlet Revsports, Tiger has been registered with Mumbai FC for the 135th edition of the Durand Cup. He has been regularly training with the team and is likely to feature in the final group stage match. Mumbai FC is preparing to play their group stage matches starting July 30 before heading to Shillong.
Citing sources close to the club, Revsports reported that Tiger is officially registered with the team and is strongly expected to take the field in the final group stage game. Tiger was announced as part of Mumbai FC in 2024 and currently serves as the club’s brand ambassador. The club swiftly achieved notable success by winning the inaugural Maharashtra State Club League title.
After finishing third in I-League 3 last season, Mumbai FC has earned its first chance to compete in the Durand Cup. Placed in Group ‘E’, Mumbai FC will face Shillong Lajong FC, Nongsaih Sports and Cultural Club, and Langsning FC. All group stage matches will take place in Shillong. Should Tiger make his appearance on the field, he will join the ranks of Bollywood celebrities involved in Indian football. Actor John Abraham, for instance, has also been associated with Indian Super League club Northeast United FC.
