Mehbub Alam, a distinguished Nepali cricketer and world-record-holding all-rounder, is set to participate in the Asian Legends League Season 2. Alam will represent the Asian Stars team, captained by Tillakaratne Dilshan, and is scheduled to depart for Zambia on July 29 to join the competition. Known for his remarkable feat in 2008 when he took all 10 wickets in a single innings, Alam’s participation is expected to raise the profile of Nepali cricket on the international stage.
The tournament will take place in Zambia from July 30 to August 10. Mehbub Alam will play for the Asian Stars under the leadership of former Sri Lankan captain Tillakaratne Dilshan. Alam is one of the most renowned players in Nepali cricket history. In 2008, during the ICC World Cricket League Division 5 match against Mozambique, he made history by taking all 10 wickets while conceding only 12 runs in 7.5 overs.
Alam is the first player in limited-overs international cricket to claim all 10 wickets of the opposing team in a single match, a record that earned him a place in the Guinness World Records. His participation in the Asian Legends League is a matter of pride for Nepali cricket. By representing Nepal in this prestigious international tournament, Mehbub Alam is expected to further elevate the visibility of Nepali cricket worldwide. The competition will also feature prominent former international stars, including Yusuf Pathan, Ambati Rayudu, Shakib Al Hasan, Upul Tharanga, and Tillakaratne Dilshan, among others.
