In an attack on the Khajina checkpost located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, nine police officers including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) lost their lives. Police reported that 15 militants were killed in the ensuing gunfight, and 28 police personnel were injured.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army stated that in the past 24 hours, 32 terrorists were killed in counter-terror operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The attack targeted the Khajina checkpost in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The retaliatory operation resulted in the death of nine police officers, including one DSP.
According to current reports, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police claim to have killed 15 militants during the double encounter. The assault and subsequent counter-operation occurred on Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of nine police personnel including DSP Diyar Khan. Additionally, DSP Mujahid Hussain and 27 other officers were injured during the confrontation.
Militants armed with weapons attacked the Khajina Banda police checkpost in Hangu, according to official police statements. The Pakistan Army’s ISPR also confirmed that in joint operations conducted over the last 24 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, 32 terrorists were neutralized.
