Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the passage of the Public Examination Amendment Bill in Parliament, aimed at preventing paper leaks. He stated, “Paper mafias and gangs who jeopardize children’s futures will not be spared, and stringent laws are essential in this matter.” Modi asserted that the new legislation with strict provisions will strengthen the examination system and eradicate the issue of paper leaks in the future. 15 Shrawan, Kathmandu.
The Prime Minister addressed the issue of paper leaks for the second consecutive time through a video posted on Instagram. Posting the video on Thursday night, he informed that the Public Examination Amendment Bill has been passed. He said, “Paper leaks have put children’s futures in jeopardy. Improvements in the education system are mandatory across all states and also at the central government level. The use of technology is necessary.”
He further added, “Those involved in manipulating the system for personal gain, the paper mafias and gangs, will not be allowed to continue. Strong laws are crucial to address this problem. We had introduced the bill in Parliament, and as promised, detailed discussions took place in both houses two days ago.” He went on, “Both houses have now passed this bill containing stringent provisions. This marks the completion of a significant step towards a reliable examination system.” Earlier, on July 23 at 11:52 PM, Prime Minister Modi had posted a video on Instagram discussing the paper leak issue. Notably, he began his message using the word ‘friends’ instead of the traditional ‘mitr’ (friends) to address the audience.
