The Nepal Olympic Museum is organizing the country’s first-ever sports exhibition from August 4 to 6, 2026 (Shrawan 19 to 21) at the Nepal Art Council in Baber Mahal. Titled “Beyond Medals,” the exhibition will be inaugurated by the Minister of Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel. It will feature historic sports memorabilia, rare photographs, medals, and trophies, aiming to preserve and pass on Nepal’s sports heritage to future generations.
The exhibition marks the 33rd anniversary of the Nepal Olympic Museum and seeks to promote the conservation and celebration of Nepal’s sports history. The event will showcase carefully selected photographs from a collection of approximately 500,000 rare and historical sports images.
In addition to photographs, the exhibition will display medals, trophies, sports equipment, and other significant memorabilia. It will engage national and international athletes, coaches, sports administrators, and enthusiasts, creating an inclusive platform for the country’s sports community.
The museum also intends to honor the legacy of the late founder, veteran sports journalist Kshitij Arun Shrestha, and South Asian Games taekwondo medalist Manju Tuladhar through the exhibition. Their contributions have been instrumental in preserving Nepal’s rich sports history, which the exhibition aims to celebrate and sustain for generations to come.
