Menten FC triumphed over Horak FC in a penalty shootout, winning 4–3 to secure the title. The PSEX Premier League Seven-a-Side Futsal tournament, organized by PSEX Sports, concluded with Menten FC crowned champions after defeating Horak FC in the final via penalties. In the third-place match, Thamel 11 defeated Royal Nepal 2–1, earning NPR 21,111 in cash prizes. The event took place on 17th Shrawan in Kathmandu.
Under the banner of PSEX Sports, the ‘PSEX Premier League Seven-a-Side Open Futsal Tournament’ concluded with Menten FC emerging as the champion. The exciting final, held at the Kapan Sports Center in Budhanilkantha on Sunday, saw Menten FC overcome Horak FC in a penalty shootout, 4–3. The match showcased fierce competition from the start. Horak FC took the lead in the 2nd minute through a goal by Sandip Karki. However, Menten’s Rabin Chaulagai quickly equalized. In the 9th minute, Saleindra Magar scored to restore Horak’s lead 2–1 by halftime. In the second half, Horak extended their advantage to 3–1. Yet, in the final moments of the game, Menten’s Yogesh Shrestha scored two consecutive goals to level the match at 3–3, pushing the contest into the penalty shootout where Menten prevailed.
On Sunday, Menten FC advanced through the quarterfinals by defeating Nobel Football Academy 2–0 and reached the final after beating Royal Nepal in the semifinals via penalties. Horak FC reached the final by defeating Dynamic FC 3–1 in the quarterfinals and then Thamel 11 with a 3–0 victory in the semifinals. In the third-place playoff, Thamel 11 beat Royal Nepal 2–1. The champions, Menten FC, were awarded NPR 111,111 in cash along with trophies and certificates. The runners-up, Horak FC, received NPR 51,111, and third-placed Thamel 11 took home NPR 21,111. Additionally, trophies and certificates were awarded for Best Goalkeeper, Best Player, and Best Team. A total of 32 teams competed over the three-day tournament. PSEX Sports, dedicated to promoting and developing Nepali sports, announced plans to regularly organize futsal and other sports competitions in the future.
