August 6 (21 Shrawan), Kathmandu – The ‘Capstone Accelerator’, the final phase of the entrepreneurship skills development program supported by the US Embassy in Nepal, has reached its concluding stage.
Twenty leading entrepreneurs, selected competitively from seven cities across the country, will present their businesses on Friday (22 Shrawan) in Kathmandu before investors, industrialists, and stakeholders in the entrepreneurship sector.
Among 200 entrepreneurs who participated in regional workshops nationwide, the top 20 have been chosen for the national Capstone Accelerator.
During the three-day residential program held in Kathmandu, participants are receiving training on business expansion, investment readiness, export potential, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, market management, and strategic communication.
The main highlight of the program is the ‘Investment and Global Market-Focused Pitching Session,’ where participants will present their ventures before a panel of business experts.
According to the organizers, this event is not a competition but aims to provide entrepreneurs with practical advice on market expansion, attracting investment, innovation, and export potential.
The program will conclude with the ‘Capstone Main Street Showcase,’ inspired by the American ‘Main Street’ concept, where participants will display their products and services.
This opportunity is expected to enable them to engage directly with investors, industrialists, AmCham Nepal, and other US business leaders, receive market feedback, and explore new business collaboration possibilities.
Mike Harker, Public Affairs Chief of the US Embassy in Nepal, expressed trust that investments made in Nepalese entrepreneurs will further strengthen the economic partnership between the United States and Nepal.
He stated that the program provides entrepreneurs with essential skills, business networks, and a global perspective, creating new opportunities for trade, investment, innovation, and private sector collaboration.
The Capstone Accelerator is the final phase of the entrepreneurship skills development program supported by the US Embassy and is implemented by the International Development Institute (IDI) in partnership with Adyant Advisory.
Earlier, regional workshops held in Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Hetauda, Bhairahawa, and Pokhara benefited 200 entrepreneurs.
Subsequently, participants received virtual masterclasses on legal compliance, export preparation, AI-based business expansion, and digital marketing. From these, the top 20 entrepreneurs were selected for the national Capstone Accelerator.
The selected entrepreneurs are active in various sectors including agriculture and agro-processing, food and beverage, information technology, manufacturing, creative industries, consulting services, digital services, natural products, handicrafts, cooperatives, and social enterprises.
They represent ventures with significant potential to contribute to innovation, job creation, and Nepal’s economic development.
