Harmeet Singh Appointed Captain of Janakpur Bolts for Nepal Premier League Season 3

July 9, Kathmandu – American cricketer Harmeet Singh has signed with Janakpur Bolts as the captain for the third season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). On Saturday, Janakpur announced the signing and captaincy via their social media channels.

The left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Harmeet played the first two editions of the NPL representing Sudurpashchim Royals, where he was instrumental in guiding the team to the finals. In the first edition, he scored 28 runs and took 8 wickets across 5 matches. In the second edition, Harmeet amassed 133 runs in 9 matches at a strike rate exceeding 166 and took 12 wickets at an economy rate of 6.18.

Having previously been part of the Indian team that won the 2012 Under-19 World Cup, Harmeet currently represents the United States national team. He has played 29 T20 internationals, securing 31 wickets and scoring 242 runs.

Janakpur Bolts won the NPL title in the inaugural season under Anil Sah’s captaincy. The second edition saw leadership shared between Anil Sah, South Africa’s Wayne Parnell, and Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton.

Janakpur Bolts CEO Niroj Khatri highlighted that strong leadership is fundamental to a team’s success along with skilled players.
