Mountain Energy Limited’s subsidiary, Dudhkola Hydropower, has secured the necessary financial arrangements to develop the 65-megawatt capacity Dudhkola Hydropower Project. NMB Bank and Sanima Bank have jointly agreed to invest NPR 1.01 billion in debt financing for this project. With a total estimated cost of NPR 1.289 billion, the project aims to be completed and commence electricity generation within three years.
Kathmandu, 25th Shrawan – Mountain Energy Limited, together with its subsidiary Dudhkola Hydropower Company Pvt. Ltd., has successfully finalized the financial arrangements for the 65 MW Dudhkola Hydropower Project. The promoter company and the two banks have signed the financial agreement. According to the agreement, NMB Bank, acting as the lead bank, will invest NPR 681 million, while Sanima Bank, as the co-bank, will contribute NPR 320 million. The combined debt investment from both banks totals NPR 1.01 billion.
The project, which will be constructed in Manang, carries a total cost of NPR 1.289 billion. With a per-megawatt cost under NPR 20 million, the plan is considered highly attractive. While NMB Bank and Sanima Bank’s joint investment sums to NPR 1.01 billion, the remaining funds will be provided by the promoter company.
Upon completion of the financial arrangements, the company plans to immediately commence construction. The goal is to start power production within three years of groundbreaking. Mountain Energy Limited’s previously completed projects—Mystery Khola Hydropower with 42 MW capacity and Tandikhola Hydropower with 5 MW capacity—are currently contributing to regular electricity generation.
