27 Shrawan, Kathmandu – The schedule for the ACC Premier Cup cricket tournament to be held in Malaysia has been revised. Nepal’s original match date was set for September 1 but has now been advanced to August 31.
Placed in Group ‘A’, Nepal will play their first match against Bahrain on August 31. The group also includes Bahrain, Hong Kong, host Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia. Group ‘B’ features UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and Singapore.
Following that, Nepal will compete against host Malaysia on September 3, Saudi Arabia on September 6, and Hong Kong on September 8.
The top two teams from both groups will qualify for the semifinals after the group stage. The semifinals will be followed by a third-place playoff and the final match.
The Premier Cup, conducted in the ODI format, will grant the winning team a place in next year’s Asia Cup.
Nepal has already announced its 14-member squad led by captain Sandeep Lamichhane for the tournament.
