Taekwondo Referee Bablu Shivakoti Selected for 2026 Asian Games Officiating Panel

International referee Bablu Shivakoti from Nepal has been appointed to officiate at the 20th Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Shivakoti, a central member of the Nepal Taekwondo Association, holds international referee certifications in both Gyorugi and Poomsae disciplines. He has previously officiated with distinction at various international tournaments, including the 27th Asian Taekwondo Championships in Mongolia.
The Nepal Taekwondo Association announced that Shivakoti will serve as a referee in taekwondo from September 19 to October 4 during the 20th Asian Games. He has also served two terms as a Technical Delegate (TD) of the association. After successfully completing the international Gyorugi referee course in Dubai in January 2023, he further attained the international Poomsae referee certification in 2024, becoming an official in both categories.
In 2026, Shivakoti officiated at the WT President’s Cup (G-3) Open Taekwondo Championship held on the Gold Coast, Australia, as well as at the 27th Asian Taekwondo Championships held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in May. His extensive experience includes refereeing at various international and Asian Taekwondo events hosted in countries such as Australia, Japan, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, and Mongolia.
