A vacuum cleaner left charging in a room in the United Kingdom caused a fire that nearly engulfed the entire space. Residents returning from a trip discovered the fire damage upon their arrival. Fortunately, because the door was closed, the flames did not spread to other parts of the house.
Following the incident, the local fire safety authority has advised turning off all electrical devices and keeping doors closed when leaving the house.
