Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay Announces Monthly Allowances and Vehicles for Legislators

September 19, Kathmandu – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has announced the provision of government vehicles and a monthly allowance of 100,000 rupees for legislators. According to the news agency PTI, Chief Minister Vijay made this declaration under Rule 110 during the legislative assembly session. He stated that legislators will receive a monthly allowance of 75,000 rupees to cover driver, fuel, and maintenance expenses for their vehicles. Additionally, legislators who employ assistants for office-related tasks will receive a monthly allowance of 25,000 rupees.
“This new arrangement will make it easier for legislators to address the problems faced by the people in their respective constituencies and also enable them to monitor government projects more effectively,” said Chief Minister Vijay. Furthermore, he announced an increase in the government’s procurement price of milk for Aavin Cooperative from 38 rupees to 41 rupees per liter. Also, the annual coverage amount under the health insurance scheme will be raised from 500,000 to 2.5 million rupees.
