Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment, Gita Chaudhary, informed that the government is providing chemical fertilizers to farmers. She explained that the responsibility of fertilizer distribution lies with the three tiers of government, and that proper arrangements have been made as per procedures. Kathmandu, 3rd Bhadra.
Minister Chaudhary highlighted Nepal’s ongoing three-tier government system and stated that guidelines have been prepared to ensure the roles of all three levels in fertilizer distribution. She made these remarks following a joint meeting of MPs and ministers convened by Raswap Chairperson Ravi Lamichhane at Singha Durbar.
When asked by reporters whether farmers are required to show their land ownership certificate (red certificate) to receive fertilizer, the minister requested understanding why such certificates might be necessary. She explained, “The requirement for the red certificate is to verify how much land a farmer owns and to ensure fertilizer distribution based on technical recommendations reflecting that need.” She urged everyone to view this matter positively rather than negatively.
