Jamal Musiala Experiences Fainting Spell for the Second Time Within Four Days

German midfielder Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich has fainted for the second time during a match within a span of four days. Musiala shared via social media that he experienced a temporary, short-term ‘absence seizure’ and is currently receiving treatment. Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, confirmed that the club was already aware of Musiala’s condition. 3rd September, Kathmandu.
On Tuesday, during a friendly match against Heidenheim, Musiala collapsed just minutes after entering the field, prompting immediate medical attention from the team’s medical staff. The 23-year-old had previously fainted during another friendly match against RB Leipzig last Saturday. Following these back-to-back incidents, he revealed he is experiencing a neurological dysfunction and is undergoing treatment.
Through social media, Musiala explained that his condition is a temporary and short-lived ‘absence seizure,’ which is treatable. He stated, “At first glance, these incidents may seem frightening, but for now, this is just part of my daily life.” He emphasized that he is receiving excellent medical care and remains optimistic about the future. Musiala also expressed gratitude for the continuous support and assistance from Bayern Munich, his family, and friends.
After Tuesday’s match, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl reiterated that the club was already informed about Musiala’s health status. Musiala had been sidelined for approximately six months last year after suffering a broken leg during the Club World Cup. Since his return, he has started in three of Germany’s four matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
