Apple Lays Off Hundreds from Siri and Vision Pro Teams Amid Structural Shift

Apple has laid off more than 200 employees from its Siri, Vision Pro, and Intelligent Systems Experience teams as part of a structural reorganization aimed at focusing on new AI initiatives and upcoming devices. The company cited the need to redirect resources towards these priorities.
According to Bloomberg, the layoffs include staff working on the Vision Pro VR headset, Siri, and Intelligent Systems Experience teams, totaling over 200 affected employees. The move comes as Apple faces growing financial pressures from rising AI development and production costs. Reportedly, these economic challenges have also led Apple to increase the prices of its Mac and iPad products.
TechCrunch notes that alongside the layoffs and price hikes, Apple has unveiled new plans to lease its products, potentially aiming to bolster sales amid the changing market landscape driven by increased AI investment.
