At the ‘World Humanoid Robot Games’ held in China, a humanoid robot successfully surpassed Usain Bolt’s 100-meter sprint record. The robot, developed by the Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics, completed the 100-meter distance in 9.39 seconds. This achievement surpasses the 9.58-second record set by Bolt, the eight-time Olympic gold medalist, back in 2009.
The robot outpaced two other competitors in the race to claim victory. Among the runner-up robots was one produced by Chinese smartphone maker Honor, which had previously completed the 100-meter sprint in 9.32 seconds during testing. This development highlights significant advancements and an elevated level of competition in the field of robotics.
