7 Bhadra, Kathmandu – The Himalayan Art Festival 2026 is currently underway with participation from over 152 contemporary Nepali artists. This event marks the ninth edition of the festival, being held at the Nepal Art Council Hall.
Organized by E-Arts Nepal, the festival opened on Friday and showcases a diverse array of art forms including paintings, sculptures, and paubha art, among others. The organizers have stated that the exhibition aims to promote institutional and commercial investment in the Nepali art sector.
Furthermore, the exhibition serves as an ideal platform for understanding and observing various Nepali art practices, and for fostering direct connections between artists and art enthusiasts.
In recognition of his long-standing contribution to the Nepali art community, senior artist Gopal Vaidya will be honored with the ‘Honor to the Maestro’ award during the event, according to the organizers.
In addition to the exhibition, a variety of activities such as Art with Poetry sessions and the Ranjan Lipi workshop will take place. The festival will continue until 11 Bhadra.
