Prestigious football clubs in Europe and IPL teams from India, along with other international sports organizations, have taken to social media sites like X and Instagram to express their condolences to the flood-affected citizens of Nepal. Spanish La Liga champions FC Barcelona paid tribute to all rescue and relief personnel via their official X account and conveyed a message of lasting solidarity with the Nepali people during this difficult time. Notably, Barcelona maintained a moment of silence during their match against Athletic Club last night.
Another Spanish club, Atletico Madrid, also shared their heartfelt condolences on X, expressing deep sorrow for the families impacted by the floods. The club posted the message “Stay Strong, Nepal,” wishing strength and courage to the affected communities. Indian Premier League teams similarly showed empathy towards Nepal. Rajasthan Royals issued messages of sympathy on both X and Instagram, while Chennai Super Kings expressed their heartbreak over the extensive damage to life and property, conveying their compassion.
Kolkata Knight Riders extended their sympathies to the flood victims via X, saluting the security forces engaged in rescue and relief efforts. Likewise, Sunrisers Hyderabad offered prayers for the safety of affected citizens and reaffirmed solidarity with Nepal.
