The Bhote Koshi flood has damaged 13 hydropower projects in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, with 934 individuals unaccounted for. The flood in Bhote Koshi has caused significant damage to hydropower projects in Rasuwa and Nuwakot. A total of 934 employees and workers at these flood-affected sites are currently missing contact. According to data provided by IPPAN, the flood and landslides have harmed operational and under-construction hydropower projects in both districts. Consequently, many project personnel remain unreachable.
In Rasuwa alone, 7 hydropower projects have been impacted by the flood, rendering 730 people out of contact. Among these, 4 are operational projects with a combined capacity of 158 megawatts, while 3 are under construction, totaling 342 megawatts in capacity. The project with the highest number of missing individuals is the under-construction Upper Trishuli-1, which has a capacity of 216 megawatts and accounts for 576 of the missing personnel.
In Nuwakot, 6 major hydropower projects have been affected, with 244 people missing contact. Of these projects, 4 are operational with a combined capacity of 123 megawatts and 2 are under construction with 52.6 megawatts capacity. The Upper Trishuli-3 ‘B’ project (37 megawatts) has the highest number of missing individuals in Nuwakot, totaling 158 people.
